BuddyUp: helping build confidence…..

Since joining BuddyUp last December, Max* (16) has quickly embraced everything the programme has to offer. His goal in joining was to spend more time with peers and build his independence and social skills. He’s shown real enthusiasm for taking part in activities and getting to know new people.

Earlier this year Max attended his first BuddyUp bowling outing. In a structured and relaxed environment, he engaged well with others, helping to build both his confidence and communication skills in a supportive setting.

During his first outing with Sara*, his ‘volunteer buddy’, Max brought along a new card game he wanted to learn. It was a great opportunity for shared interaction and showed his willingness to take the lead.

Early feedback has been very positive. Max’s parent shared, “Max has not stopped saying how much fun he had with you today!” This highlight’s both his enjoyment and the immediate positive impact of the session.

Since joining BuddyUp, Max has shown an increased willingness to engage with others and try new activities. It’s been fantastic to see Max’s confidence grow, especially in social situations and we look forward to supporting his continued progress.
